Search window (ctrl+f) closes when i change tab

Post by Kamil2022 »

When I press the shortcut ctrl + f it will show 'search' on the page.
When I go to the next open tab, the search must be opened again with the shortcut ctrl + f.
Pages on subsequent tabs are within the same domain.

This can be changed with an entry in about: config?
In older versions of Fx it was different with this issue (as I would like now, i.e. that the 'Find on page' window remains open all the time)

A few years ago, the Find bar changed from belonging to the entire window (shared across tabs) to belonging to the individual tab. There isn't a preference to switch between those.

(That's a rather abhorrent behavior :-).)

Though, I will note, in subsequent tabs, you need only hit 'F3' to perform the same search (using the last used search term).

So instead of hitting Ctrl+F (again), just hit F3.
Fire 750, bring back 250.
