I *think* I had this same issue years ago and cannot recall what fixed it.
Best example for now: I use MSN as my home page. Top of MSN is a search box for Bing. It is not selected. I open a half dozen (number does not matter) tabs of other sites. I scroll through the tabs using things I have set to Previous Tab and/or Next Tab such as mouse buttons or direction keys and when I return to MSN, the cursor focus is in the Bing Search field with the previous searches expanded. This stoops my ability to cycle through tabs until I have manually shifted focus away from that field.
Happens in many other pages as well.
How can I control so this does not happen?
Thanks.

Re: 102 ESR Focus when switching tabs
Ctrl+TAB itself looks to be unaffected when focus is in the MSN search box.using things I have set to Previous Tab and/or Next Tab such as mouse buttons or direction keys
Maybe you can adjust the code sent by your mouse?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

You are correct.
Tried different codes. Have it limping but would be noce to have a setting not to focus on input foields when switching to a tab.
