FF 105 video playback issues

Post by Bobby3PAQC »

Hello,

I know Mozilla broke something up in recent releases as there are constant issues with videos. It started in 102 or 103 but I still have such issues on 105.
On Discord web GIFs (they may have mp4 extension) browser won't work - blank icons will appear. In the console I have a such error:

Wrong URI address. Multimedia source „” has not been found.

This is a translation so it may be not fully correct.

By previous FF there were no such issues, since 102 or 103 FF just sucks again. I need to restart FF then GIFs in the discord's browser load properly. It happens mostly after system sleep. What has been so fundamentally changed that it broke FF so much?

Twitter content also doesn't work after longer time - video content wont load.

Miraculously I need to close FF and it works again.
What did Mozilla stuff up this time? It was all good before they started to mess around 102 and up.

Make sure you allow audio and video.

It is not this I think. The problem is that everything works until at some moment no more stream movies, no gifs. They just don't load.

The console shows example:
Firefox can't connect to wss://socket.streamable.com/.

On Discord web: Wrong URI address.

I need to restart FF and it miraculously works again.
Someone here has this issue as well: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/commen ... ing_video/

Definitely Mozilla stuffed up something terribly.

websocket demo here looks to "work", https://web.dev/websocketstream/.

(Heh. The way it works, I'd consider a bug ;-).)

A new update - 2 days FF worked normally, 3rd day suddenly no more gifs on discord, no more movies.
Can be both FF ran simultaneously? I would run the same websites on both instances but one with all addons I use, the second on a new profile.
Then I could say it is definitely purely Mozilla error or perhaps an addon.
I cannot let myself using pure FF without addons for a few days until an error occurs (too much ads ect so I can't).

That I get on discord:

For heaven's sake Mozilla, no cure for this problem Again 2 days normal and suddenly no movies, no gifs. Perhaps this company should focus to hire professional developers instead of left wing crap just to say how progressive Mozilla is.

I am sorry for emotions. I am almost done with Mozilla due to their lack of competence. Even Microsoft could fix their terrible Edge that it is now surprisingly usable.
I loaded version 101 and no any issues with broken gifs, movies ect. The same profile. Same cookies. Everything.
Mozilla just broke something in 104 and up and can't fix the mess they created. But hey, they have other priorities like colorful themes, new icons or diversity in the team.
