Alt+back brings up word find form

As I guess most do, I use alt+back to see the previous page. But sometimes it brings up the word find form, at the page botttom. Why? How can I prevent ths behavior?

Solved. The problem stemmed from my enabling (in Tools/Setings) "Search for text when you start typing." I can't see how that preference will fail to engender similar problems, and in my view it should not be available.
