Problem with facebook videos (black screen)

Post by moinebs »

hello!
Facebook videos are not playing in firefox, it plays youtube videos fine. Some fb videos start to load and after that just a black screen remains.

No such issues in other web browsers.

Thanks in advance.

No such problem here with Firefox either.
Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

106.0.4 "Fixed a crash experienced by some users during media playback (bug 1792115)", so if you're not yet on 0.4, see if that fixes it for you?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Yes, as well as other temporary changes:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quoting dfoulkes:

-- What safe-mode does ..... Safe Mode temporarily affects the following:
* All extensions are disabled. --- * The userChrome.css and userContent.css files are ignored.
* The default theme is used, without a persona. --- * The default toolbar layout is used.
* The Just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compiler is disabled. --- * Hardware acceleration is disabled.

-- Safe Mode has no effect on the following --
* The status of plugins is not affected.
* Custom preferences are not affected.

Do you by chance have a N or KN edition of Windows 7 ?, if so then you may only have partial support for HTML5 due to not have media feature pack installed.
