...when you enter fullscreen?

Hi,
See if this extension suits your needs...Seems to work reasonably well, here.

NOTE: Naturally....The original video should not play...depending on your set options.
A single left click (YT basic function), will pause & play the video at any time.

Of course, there are many more to choose from...

Mmm...The first link...the extension doesn't work in the way that I want it to while the second link doesn't really show any other options.

Really....Rob?
1,015 results found for "pause youtube"
This is the heading text from the ADDONS page.

Surely, there's most likely one extension that suits your needs amongst that lot?

As I mentioned, the 1st one I linked to works fine here.
I can & do watch any/all YT videos in FULL SCREEN & they all PAUSE when 1st loaded.

Sorry for the late reply; I wasn't notified that you had done so.

Really.

If there is, then I don't know which one. Here're the effects that I want to achieve:

1. The video is paused when in full screen, while keeping the thumbnail on screen.
2. The video loads while in this state (because it's paused, not stopped).
3. Being able to press the spacebar will play the video.

None of the extensions that I saw on the linked list accomplishes this goal--something's always lacking. I don't remember the ones that I looked at anymore, but if I recall correctly, Auto Pause/Stop for YouTube will show the thumbnail in full screen, but it stops the video from loading, so I have to waste time waiting for that to happen when I'm ready to play it. Another extension paused the video in full screen, but the first frame of the video was on screen, not the thumbnail, and with that one I had to click on the play button instead of being able to hit the spacebar.

Of all the extensions on that provided link, only a handful--maybe about 5--were relevant to what I was looking for. So, yeah, I'm still looking and waiting. I'm also, going on a tangent here, through trying to make the BBC correct, as the forum wants to fight me on it.

Well Rob,
May I suggest that you find one that "nearly works for you" & ask the developer if they can add the necessary prefs/options for you?

Might be possible.
Dunno.

As for the extensions you've looked at...are they still in your Bookmarks > History list?

No, I don't have that folder. There's the History menu, but I have it set to where the cache is cleared out upon browser closing. As for asking an author, I could do that; sure.
