Can someone confirm that making This Forum an Exception ( http://forums.mozillazine.org) with - Enable HTTPS-Only Mode in all windows - chkd .... Does Not Work?
Different Exception address or More required?
I tried that Exception URL shown and always got the HTTPS Forum. Would like the S Only Setting revived.
RE-Installing -- HTPPS Everywhere -- Addon Works for netting HTTP Zine Forum .... BUT it disappears Jan 2023.
Thanks for any clarification.

Re: This Forum Exception to HTTPS Only Setting
Try to make the HTTPS-Only exception for http://forums.mozillazine.org/ and not for https://forums.mozillazine.org/ if you currently have the latter.
Settings -> Privacy & Security -> HTTPS-Only Mode -> Manage Exceptions

Re: This Forum Exception to HTTPS Only Setting
i have "enable HTTPS-only mode in all windows" enabled and i have an exception for this forum, for http://forums.mozillazine.org, and the exception works fine, where http://forums.mozillazine.org is always loaded when i use my bookmark to open the webpage.
maybe you have your bookmark for the forum set to use https://forums.mozillazine.org and that is causing the forum to open to https://forums.mozillazine.org instead of opening to http://forums.mozillazine.org?
in "exceptions," the exception, http://forums.mozillazine.org, is set to "off," meaning that it will not be forced to load as "HTTPS."

Re: This Forum Exception to HTTPS Only Setting
Thanks for the replies.
This Support Forum is actually -- http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38 -- BUT when making THAT URL an Exception with Enable HTTPS for All Windows it shows a chopped-off ver -- http://forums.mozillazine.org/ -- That YOU SHOW, too.......
My New Tab setting has 80 shtcut Icons and FF Sppt Forum has HTTP as the Forum address BUT - HTTPS - version always shows even with my Exception.
A TEST PROFILE HAS SAME ISSUE with Exception set as shown. EDIT 12-6-22: My TEST Profile NOW shows [ forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38 ] IN the Address Bar with NO Http OR S OR www. --- BUT when I Copy-Paste onto THIS POST it Adds the -- http:// --- Nothing is logical with this, so Why Not?
Also, I'm wondering WHY HTTPS Everywhere Addon doesn't Force HTTPS for This Forum - It Allows HTTP to occur as intended..... EDIT: 12-6-22 I Deleted HTTPS Everywhere..Reinstated All HTTPS in FF, and will use the TEST Profile WHEN I want to Post..
What's Wonky about My setup Vs your's that are working is a tough mystery .
STILL PRODUCES ....

so your test profile is screwed up, too.costark wrote:A TEST PROFILE HAS SAME ISSUE
the solution is to create a new, clean firefox profile.

Re: This Forum Exception to HTTPS Only Setting
here are the browser-extensions that i use:
ublock origin
noscript
cookie autodelete
malwarebytes browser guard
clearURLs
------------
here are the tweaks that i apply, in firefox's "about:config":
app.normandy.enabled false
browser.bookmarks.max_backups 1
browser.cache.offline.enable false
browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash false
browser.tabs.firefox-view false (new)
browser.tabs.tabmanager.enabled false (new)
browser.tabs.unloadOnLowMemory false
default-browser-agent.enabled false (checks if FF is default browser)
extensions.webcompat.enable_shims false (enables generic scripts)
network.captive-portal-service.enabled false
network.connectivity-service.enabled false
network.dns.disableIPv6 true
network.dns.disablePrefetch true
network.predictor.enabled false
network.prefetch-next false
pdfjs.enableScripting false
privacy.query_stripping.enabled true
privacy.query_stripping.enabled.pbmode true
security.OCSP.require = true
---------------------------------
i don't use firefox's "DNS over HTTPS." i use regular DNS, instead, using the "quad9" DNS servers.

Create New Profile with Profile Mgr and name it - TEST .redwolfe_98 wrote:so your test profile is screwed up, too.costark wrote:A TEST PROFILE HAS SAME ISSUE

THAT IS a new, clean Profile ..... with This Forum Address added as Exception to Enable HTTPS in All Windows - it just doesn't work like the rest of your Profiles.
I use Quad 9 and my Sig shows some of your Addons.

Note that default-browser-agent.enabled is not about updating.
The Default Browser Agent is a Windows-only scheduled task which runs in the background to collect and submit data about the browser.
