i want firefox to open target=_blank links in a new tab what is easily possible with browser.link.open_newwindow
but i want javascripted popups to open in a new window, because they often resize the window and should be displayed without menu and so on! how is that possible? No.
How a new window is opened is not your decision. With Firefox, the user has always to final word. You cannot write a javascript script to force a new tab. You'll receive a lot more answers for that type of question ("How do I code to ...") if you post on the Developpers board <a href="http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html">How To Ask Questions The Smart Way</a>!
Website viewing, HTML, CSS, Javascript bugs? -> <a href="http://diveintomark.org/archives/2003/05/05/why_we_wont_help_you">Help yourself</a> i think you didnt understand my question
![]() normal link with target="_blank" -> open in a new tab a javascripted link -> open a new window i want firefox to handle the links this way, not a site to force firefox to do that!
Try Tab Mix: http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=2291
On the first page of it's settings, set new window links to open in new tab and javascript popups to 'Allow all to open in new window' "All things being equal, the simplest answer is usually the correct one" - Occam's Razor
