i want firefox to open target=_blank links in a new tab what is easily possible with browser.link.open_newwindow
but i want javascripted popups to open in a new window, because they often resize the window and should be displayed without menu and so on! how is that possible?

No.

How a new window is opened is not your decision. With Firefox, the user has always to final word. You cannot write a javascript script to force a new tab.

You'll receive a lot more answers for that type of question ("How do I code to ...") if you post on the Developpers board

i think you didnt understand my question ;)
normal link with target="_blank" -> open in a new tab
a javascripted link -> open a new window

i want firefox to handle the links this way, not a site to force firefox to do that!

Try Tab Mix: http://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=2291

On the first page of it's settings, set new window links to open in new tab and javascript popups to 'Allow all to open in new window'
