How can Firefox memorize the position of bookmark list in the sidebar?
I'd like to know how to configure Firefox's bookmark sidebar, without using an add-on.
I like how Internet Explorer's bookmark sidebar works (I don't know about Edge, I'm not using it.).
With IE, you scroll down a list of hundreds of bookmark titles to somewhere in the middle or bottom in sidebar, and then you close the sidebar or reboot the IE, it still memorizes the last position. So you don't need to scroll down again to find the same bookmark title again.
But Firefox, from the early versions, it shows very different behavior. Each time you close the sidebar or close Firefox, it resets the position to the top.
Anyone knows how to change this Firefox's behavior to IE's?

here are some related threads:

apparently there were some changes with firefox build 110 relating to the displaying of bookmarks and a bug was introduced, which supposedly will be fixed in firefox build 113.

Re: Firefox not memorize the position of bookmark in sidebar
Thanks for the note. I also noticed the bag you mentioned since Firefox 110.
But the solution I'm looking for is about the bookmark "sidebar" behavior. This is not a new bug but intended specification. I believe I've been seeing this since the early versions of Firefox for almost two decades.

Re: Firefox not memorize the position of bookmark in sidebar
The sidebar (whether history or bookmarks) has always reverted to top upon being reopened, although it does preserve which folders are open. I wouldn't want the feature you're requesting, so I'd need a pref to turn it off.
My approach is keeping most-used bookmarks near the top, and organizing others into folders in such a way that not much scrolling is necessary.
