Cant copy and paste in Firefox

Hellene, I ran the Standard Diagnostic like a good boy (now may I ask you out?). No changes whatsoever. And... Shadek, no offense, but I won't learn to live with this glitch. Its really annoying.

May I repeat the basics of this bug, for any new affected members to second:

1) Cannot copy things from a tab to another. Period.
2) Sometimes pastes to/from other applications, but when changing tabs, and rght-click a text field in the new tab, the clipboard is erased. NOTE: it is erased for ALL windows applications.
3) This affects both address bar and text fields, like in message boards and all that.
4) I started having this problem a few days ago when running 1.0.4 - currently running 1.0.7 (fresh installation and all the Standard Diagnostic stuff) and still having this problem.
5) Not running spybot, though i see its installed. Will reboot after uninstalling it, lets see if there are any changes.

Please second all this. And puh-lezz can somebody run another Standard Diagnostic, we need as many opinions as possible here.

Yet again, would someone explain Bugzilla? Our voting may be important, methinks.

I've gone back and done what I thought may fix it and so far not a thing works.
And lest I wasn't clear enough- it won't even let me highlight anything on a page at all, let alone cut or copy it.
it actually changes the mouse cursor and disallows highlighting.
VERY weird.

I am having a similar problem. Here is what I have noticed:

1. I can copy/paste within a single tab and to/from a single tab to other programs (I used notepad).
2. Clicking on the address bar/search box, or switching tabs clears the clipboard in all programs.

One exception I noticed is if I open the browser with one tab, copy something from either body or address bar, then use CTRL+T to open a new tab and CTRL+V to paste in the new address bar it works. If I try to right click in the new address bar to paste there is nothing to paste.

Everything worked fine yesterday.

Version info:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7

How do I run a standard diagnostic?

p.s. In point number 1 above I can have mulitiple tabs open, but switching between them clears the clipboard.

I am going to try running spybot, etc. now to see if that helps.

Going Beta is not quite a solution. Id like to know what can we do to help. I made some research, a couple of friends have the same problem, most dont. Those with problems vary from versions 1.0.4 to 1.0.6 to 1.0.7 - so you see there has to be something else.

I second Junebuglaura, having multiple tabs opened, just by browsing them the clipboards is erased. And Ctrl+C Ctrl+T works fine for me either.

Please explain Bugzilla, the voting and whatnot.

Whatever I believe that there is no more versions 1.0.x until FF2 released in november.

This issue won't be solve with creating new profile or uninstalling extensions, it solve installing beta. But this problem is reported like a bug. Don't lost for now your time wait until this have a solve.

For everybody the suggestion from someone, from bugzilla
1. Open the current page in a new window (I usually just open any page in a new
window and check copy/paste there).

2. Start -> Run -> clipbrd.exe (Clipboard Viewer)

3.Copy from one tab, paste in note/text/any-pad, swich to the new pad, copy from
anypad and paste it. This only works if I swich windows before the second copy
and paste, otherwise the clipboard is blank again

4.Work with one instance of firefox and do all copy and paste operations from or
2 opera...

In the bugzilla report there in an option to 'vote' for a bug... this at one time was a 'feeler guage' or sorts to determine the 'pain factor' I would guess... but I'm not so sure that the 'voting' system carries much weight anymore...

Still won't hurt to vote.. I think you have to have an 'account' to vote...but its not hard to set up...
