Clear Private Data from commandline

Post by lala1234 »

Is there a way to clear private data from the command line?

I would like a one stop "click" that will wipe all Firefox private data and MRU lists as well.

Thanks.

If it is not possible to run the "Clear Private Data" command, what are the files/directories I need to delete if I want to clear:

Browsing History
Saved Form Information
Download History
Cookies
Cache

I'm in linux.

Thanks for the tip. I'm sure someone will find it useful, but I am in linux and I would like a simple script to do the job. So I only need to know which files/directories to delete.

Here are the files you need to get rid of (in your profile) I think:

Browsing History: history.dat
Saved Form Information: formhistory.dat
Download History: downloads.rdf
Cookies: cookies.txt
Cache: cache (& trash cache) (folders!)

Have a great 2006!

Wow! That was easy...I should have looked myself before asking.

Thanks.

Where are these folders exactly? In .mozilla/firefox/MYPROFILE/ there is no cache folder.

deleting dowloaded emails from server

Post by TheSilb »

I download email sent to my Yahoo SBC mail address in Mozilla Firefox Browser.
But I really want to delete emails from the server, after I have downloaded them, so I dont have to see tham again, when I check email from another computer.
How the heck do I get my browser to delete downloaded emails?
