Bank statement won't download

Using FB .61 I at first couldn't download my bank statement from my online bank. After a while it worked ok though I have no idea what changes I made to make it work. Now I've gone to FB .7 and I have the same problem. Instead of the download I am told to close the window as there is a problem.
Equally, I cannot make ferry bookings on a site I frequently use with FB, though IE 6 has no problem. The site tells me the service is not available. I used this site in thepast with FB .61 with no problem.
Where should I look to solve this problem? Java? Any setup changes? Help gratefully received as I like FB but still need my bank and ferry bookings!
