hm...did 2 steps...however, i cannot find the flash 7 file for mozilla on the site..help please? ( lol when it comes to cpu's im dumb, sorry )
The Flash 7 link goes to Adobe's Flash Player TechNote article which contains the Netscape download ("install_flash_player_7.exe"), used by both Netscape and Mozilla browsers.
First, empty your temp folder. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Jim\Local Settings\Temp and delete the contents of that folder. Don't delete the folder. Press Ctrl+A to highlight all the entries in the folder, then press the Delete key. Answer "yes".
Second, according to the Flash Player support site, uninstalling Flash Player 8 in Windows is done through Add/Remove Programs, which is interesting because I don't show Macromedia Flash Player 8 listed there. See if you have it.
Here's the link to the support site (it's a Flash demo, so it may/may not work for you):
Adobe Flash Player is now removed by using the appropriate uninstaller (for your OS), which you download to your desktop from a link on the following page, and then run AFTER closing any and all browsers you may have open:
I just wanted to add that (according to the above Adobe Flash Player TechNote) the Flash Windows uninstaller removes both the ActiveX control (needed for Internet Explorer/AOL) and the Flash plugin. It's possible to have Flash working properly in Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox, because IE uses the ActiveX control while Mozilla browsers use the plugin . You can even have Flash 9 installed in Internet Explorer and Flash 8 installed in Mozilla browsers, and both will work (I know because I've just updated to Flash 9 in Internet Explorer, and Flash 8 is still operational in Firefox). So, what I'm getting at, you can simply delete the Flash plugin files NPSWF32.dll and flashplayer.xpt from all locations to remove the Flash plugin (that's all mentioned in the Flash KB article).
Deleting the plugins from the path you see on the about:plugins page (with the pref plugin.expose_full_path -> true) should remove the flash plugin from Fx.
That should even work while Fx is running.
Following instructions posted on another thread and also from Adobe, they recommended updating the video driver. That has eliminated this problem for me. Here's what I did:
1. Right click desktop, choose properties.
2. Select Settings
3. Select Advanced
4. Select Adapter
At this point, you can identify your video card, and either go to their website to look for an updated driver, or in my case I had further options
5. Select Properties
6. Select Update Driver
Once it updated and restarted, no more problems with FF strongly suggesting I restart, and no more crashes a few moments later.
I was working with Windows XP and a Nvidia GeForce 2 MX
I have already posted this message in another Topic, I post it also here.
Many people in the italian Forum have the problem of Shockwave Flash Plugin:
"Illegal Operation In Plug-In...."
many people have solved by removing a very popular rootkit in Italy, Gromozon Rootkit.
This is the original post:
http://forum.mozillaitalia.org/index.php?topic=21151.0 and this is the link to download the Gromozon Rootkit removal Tool:
http://www.prevx.com/gromozon.asp All people that have no solved by removing flash.exe and flash.manifest have solved in this way.
I hope this can help somebody.
If you suspect a rootkit, this program is the way to find them: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/R ... ealer.html . <i>Be sure to follow the directions so you don't fool yourself.</i> The program is widely used for the purpose, and the company is well respected.

I don't know. For now, the excellent utilities that they wrote are still publicly available. It is likely that some of them will be used in future Microsoft software.
I know the sysinternal product, there are also other free Rootkit scanner like Avg and Sophos, but the tool that I have linked above is for check and remove the Gromozon Rootkit that have caused the problem with Flash to many users. It doesn't detect other rootkit it is specific for this problem.
Many people after removing the rootkit have solved the problem with Flash 9.0 successfully
I don't really know like it work because I have never had this problem, I have posted it only because I hope this can help somebody.
