Hi,
I'm fairly new to Firebird and love the browser.
My problem:
For a reason (I don't know why) Firebird asked me which kind of profile I want to use on start up.
This has never happened to me before.
I chose " default" but have been advised that default is in use and I would have to choose another profile.
I chose "new default".
Since then I have lost all of my bookmarks and also my userprofile for loging into mozillaZine.
In the past I made a copy of my bookmarks and placed it on my desktop.
When online, I can use them but I can't seem to import them back into Firebird.
Do you have any suggestion?
Any advice is very much appreciated. :(

See if Firebird is in memory when closed, ctrl+alt+del should tell you. If not, Process Explorer, free from Sysinternals should tell you if its' running or not.

I don't know what would cause it to become "hung" in memory, but that's what it sounds like. Try rebooting and see if the problem persists, also use the real UA if you have switched it to something else.

Windows Task Manager shows that it is in memory.
The real UA (user account?) ....
I don't know how to get back to it. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Press End Process for the one existing but invisible (in Task Manager).

hey anken i had the same problem...
but through trial and error fixed it..
if you close firebird by going to file>exit
then go to start>run> and put in the firebird.exe location in quotes " " and add a -p after it which will open up the profiles.. (eg. "C:\program files\mozillafirebird\mozillafirebird.exe" -p) this might be different for you, but just put your file location in there..

but it still will say that your profile is in use if you try to open firebird with your profile..
click> cancel, and open task manager and end mozilla firebird process.. and goto start>run> and do the same thing, now you should be able to use your profile, this worked for me. cant promise anything.
