I get "Unable to connect" after updating from 2.0.0.4 to 2.0.0.5. I used to run Norton internet Security, but it got disabled when I had to do a "boot from last known good configuration". I haven't had the time to deal with Norton support to get it back. I assume some vestige of it is interfering with FireFox, but meanwhile can you point to what that vestige might be? I killed off a lot of processes, and IE7 still connects fine, but Firefox 2.0.0.5 won't connect at all (this is win cp xp 2 on Dell Inspiron laptop). Thanks.

The anonymous guest:
Additional you have - at least - Avast Internet Security Suite and norton antivirus.

@Bender:
Seems to be clean of known software. Don't know about the WLKeeper software from Intel.

Should try to add bbcode to the output.

I uninstalled the logitech stuff, and norton won't even so much as open up anymore because i need to purchase it to continue and there's no way that i can uninstall it because you need to have a disk and it came standard on my computer. And avast has never once stopped firefox from running although i just uninstalled it.

It still won't work.

You should try to get rid of norton. If necessary ask Norton support. I can remember at least one case where an outdated virus scanner prevented firefox from starting.

Don't know for Vista but if it still has some sort of safe mode try it with no autostarts and only network enabled.

Try using this magic spell to make sure that you don't have any bits of Norton left running.... Norton Removal Tool
Print off the screens it suggests, and follow ALL the on screen instructions carefully.

AAA2,

If you can get Firefox to run in Safe Mode, then the problem is likely one of your extensions/addons. The only thing Safe Mode does is disable your extensions and themes; it does nothing else.

I'm having the same issue as everyone else and I downloaded EnumProcess and this was in red:

C:\WINDOWS\sytem32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe

But now I don't know what to do about it to fix it. Help?
