Hello,
I just installed FireBird on my mac (OS X - Panther) and am unable to load it! Everytime I click on it, it bounces in the dock and then closes. Here is the error being displayed in the console log:
*** malloc_zone_malloc[437]: argument too large: 4294967284
Any ideas?

Yes, I've been having the same trouble, here is the solution...
The problem arises from plugin files in the folder /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. I solved my problem by temporarily renaming the folder Internet Plug-Ins to Internet Plug-Ins-old and relaunching. I then erased all suspicious files in Internet Plug-Ins (oddly I had some fonts in there) and renamed it back. Firefox now launches smoothly.
