Can't sort Bookmarks in Firebird...

Hi,
I'm running Mozilla Firebird 0.7 on Win ME.
How do I sort my Bookmarks in alphabetical order?
From the Menu Bar, I've gone:
Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks->View->Sort by Name. This sorts them in alphabetical order within my Bookmarks Manager.
However, when they're displayed in the drop-down cascading menu outside the Bookmarks Manager, (Bookmarks->Imported IE Favourites->...), they remain unsorted.
Hope that makes sense.

There is a problem with bookmarks sorting.
Try Bookmarks|Manage Bookmarks|View| A>Z Sort Order for main and each folder.
IF that doesn't get them all, you will have to manually move the bookmareks and bookmorks folders to where you want them.

Hopefully, this will have a fix before V1.0 come along.
There are 3rd party app taht will do what you want, but I don't remember where to get them.
Search the FB forums from the right side of this apge for sort bookmarks, search for All Terms.
You may have to be a bit more creative with teh search string.
The posts listing a 3rd party sorter are inhere somewhere.

In short, this feature has yet to be implemented in Firebird.
I've also found I can't access my Imported IE Favourites from the Bookmark Menu most of the time - it just freezes.
Plus some of my IE bookmarks are missing from Firebird - they weren't copied over during the install for some reason.
I think I may go back to Mozilla 1.4, Firebird just seems too buggy at present.

Hope the last post but one didn't seem too critical of Firebird - I was having a rather fraught day that time. :-)

Apart from the Bookmarks glitch (which may be due to me having a rather large number of bookmarks), Firebird seems just great - its fast, and hasn't crashed on me yet.
Thanks to the authors for the software.

You have mentioned 2 problems:
. Imported IE Favorites are set at install time & not updated;
. Imported IE Favorites not sorted.

I also have a lot of bookmarks, and what works for me for both those is to:
1. In IE export bookmarks
2. In FB, delete Imported IE Favs.
3. In FB Bookmark Manager, Import IE Bookmarks.

Takes less than a minute, though I understand there is an extension that also does it.

Of course, if one has to use both browsers, doesn't solve the problem of keeping them synchronized.
