logitech mx700 scroll wheel wont open tab

So I just got the mx duo which kicks major ass but the scroll wheel wont open links in a new tab. It worked fine on my old mouse. Ive updated all the logitech software and still nothing. Any tips to get this working again?

While you are in the Logitech Mouse Properties, go to the Buttons section and modify the #6 (scroll wheel) to middle button?

No, it doesn't, it's only what the middle button click does. The wheel functionality always works, regardless of settings in the buttons panel. I have the mx500, which works identical except for not being wireless.
