Retrieving Bookmarks

Post by shivshekar »

Hi,

I am using Firebird 0.7. My platform is W2K professional with SP4. My machine crashed while I was doing some thing with my VMWare. FireBird was open while my machine crashed. Now I cant find my bookmarks when I bring up FireBird.. I have some important bookmarks in there and donno how to retieve it.

Any help in this regard is really appreciated.. thanks.

If the files is not mangled beyond use, the bookmarks.html file will be found in your profile; its integrity can be checked by opening it in any program that will accept an ASCII file, including Firebird.

It is possible that your profile was damaged by the crash, so that it cannot find the bookmarks file; a new profile, with the older file moved into it, will confirm if that is so.

For future protection, install the Bookmark backup extension from http://www.pikey.me.uk/mozilla/ .
