Downloads

Post by steve_dyas »

At times, when attempting a download, lines of code will appear and no download occurs; some skinz.org downloads come to mind, but there are other sites where this occurs. IE can download the same file. What gives? I use the latest build.

The server is sending the wrong MIME type.

Most downloads are fine, probably 99%. Could it be the type of file?

Wrong MIME type, something like the server tries to send you a binary file, like an installer or something, but sends it as text, so firebird thinks it's text and displays it on screen. This is what should be done according the standards I believe.
Some changes have been made for 0.8 regarding this, do a forum search for "incorrect mime type" or something along those lines because it's been explained many times and better than I can.
