Backspace key for going back a page (Linux)

Post by Santinelli »

Hey Folks - I've searched the forum for the answer to this, and didn't find anything...

Is there a way to setup Mozilla-Firebird to use the back space key (Or delete key) to go back a page under Mandrake Linux, such as Firebird works under Windows?

I dual boot, and it drives me crazy when I'm in linux and I can't just hit the backspace key... :(

Thanks,

Steve

Well...

The alt-left arrow is nice and all, but it requires using two hands.. I'm so used to just hitting the backspace key with my left hand, while keeping my other hand on the mouse, because I use Firebird at work with WinXP...

It's bad enough my really cool IBM Mouse with the left button on the side of it, won't work under linux, so I trained my hands to the backspace key... :(

Anyone have any ideas? I thought about going through the config, but there are so many parameters...

Thanks, apparently we were typing at the same time.

I've implemented the userbindings xml file... I'll let you know if it works, right after I shutdown the browser...

Ok, guess I need to figure out what key= is supposed to be... Set it to backspace, but that didn't work.

probably VK_BACK

Ctrl + <- is a good alternative, on the off chance that pressing backspace in a textbox takes you back rather than deleting an incorrect character

Well, I found the VK_BACK, but, it didn't work, or at least it didn't work where I put it... Matter of fact, it made the backspace key stop working...

I'll play with it some more later... Home sick today... :(

Yeah. I tried doing this as well. Didn't work, no matter how I put it.

I'll watch this thread -- in case someone figures it out.
