Doesn't offer to remember passwords.

Post by AE86 »

Ive got the box clicked and the site is not under the "do not remember passwords" tab so im not sure what to do. It used to remember them just fine but now it will not. Thank you. (i've already went to http://kb.mozillazine.org/User_name_and ... remembered and that did not work either.)

I believe some sites send a request to browsers asking them not to remember any passwords entered into the site. Maybe the site in question has started to do this.

Try the below extension it denies the websites request and prompts you to store the entered passwords/user-name as normal.

Thank you, i tried that but it still doesnt offer to remember it... I tried uninstallign firefox, and installing it again, and that did nothing... Any other ideas? It is for myspace by the way, it used to remember it but i think since the update it stopped... im not sure however.

Clear all your cache and cookies - make sure that cookies are allowed for all MySpace domains (and there are many of them) and try again.

Most likely My Space has done what most bank and credit cards sites have done .... they no longer let the browser save passwords ... if you have the same problem in IE ... then you really don't have any solution ....

Even if you use Roboform, which I do, some sites are going to a javascript solution which stops the saving ..... so far, I have not gone to a site that Roboform can not write to the form (fill in user ID/password) ... however, I have several sites that Roboform can not save the user ID/password and I had to type in the info into Roboform first.

Workaround for saving Passwords for sites that Password Manager will not.....

* RoboForm: Password Manager, Form Filler, Password Generator, Fill & Save Forms

You will also need to download the RoboForm Adapter for Firefox .... you will need to download a new one for each new version of firefox ...

Nothing has changed in My Space, they still allow Firefox to remember login user name and password and mine works just fine as at 20 seconds ago.

The situation with log ins to financial services websites is quite different, at least in the UK, where the login procedure rarely involves a user name but several pieces of information such as: unique customer Identity Code, PIN and specific personal information - far too diverse a set of data entries for a Password Manager.

I've tried all of that and it still doesnt offer to even remember any passwords... Maybe its the version? I'm running 1.5.0.6 but before i updated it seemed to work fine.

No it isn't the version otherwise it wouldn't work in my 1.5.06. Have a look at the log in data/passwords that currently show as saved in your Profile via Tools > Options.

I think it also has something to do with the speed that FF enters passwords. There are sites which will not work with FF password manager or the utilities mentioned here. However, these sites do work when using the "wand" in Opera. That is an extra and slower step.

If you went to site http://kb.mozillazine.org/User_name_and ... remembered and downloaded
remember password booklet fill in password and user name then click the booklet before you try and login and it will come up and ask you if you want to save password.

Sorry but My Space works perfectly in allowing Firefox Password manager to remember log ins. You are clearly just doing something wrong. I messaged My Space support yesterday about why some people would have problems - they suggest the same things suggested here and they report no problem with the site.

You can try writing the password on a sticky note and putting it on your monitor.

No, it just doesnt remember it lol. I've tried everything, literally. On sites in the past that i have currenty said "Not Now" it asks again, but the sites that i have asked it to remember it doesnt remember, and it doesnt ask to remember, so i dont know, maybe it thinks it has remembered it when it hasnt... I know of two other people having this problem as well, and they have tried everything too.
