International characters problem in Firebird

Post by OMA »

When browsing www.desarrolloweb.com I get wrong interrogation symbols when the characters "á","é","í","ó","ú" and "ñ" are used.

For example you can see "Comunicaci?n" instead of "Comunicación".

Why is that?. That webpage looks fine in IE.

Thank you!.

The site loads correctly for me here. I do not know what is causing you not being able to view the pages correctly but let me make a guess: What did you set under view>character coding? I had auto-detect off by the way.

Or alternatively, what font have you set for Western Encoding?

I had the default options: "Western (ISO-8859-1)" and "Disable autodetection".

Anyway, I've downloaded a localization patch from the Mozilla site to translate FB to Spanish and now I can see the characters right.

But I think those characters should display fine also in the English version of FB too.

Thanks for reading :)
