How do I change the automatic search engine?

Post by my very excellent mother »

Once, I had someone change the automatic search engine, when you type random words into the URL bar, from google to goodsearch.com, because goodsearch donates money to charities and I wanted easy access to it. I can't remember what the URL is to change my preferences in firefox- I know there is something you can type in to do that. How do I get there and how do I change the search engine?

about:config keyword.URL change it to whatever search engine you want, the Google setting is:
http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&o ... &gfns=1&q=

so you will need something similar for whatever search engine you replace it with.
