I can't make it stop!

Post by wwwoolf »

I inadvertently turned on some feature on Firefox that keeps creating yellow boxes around anything I click on. When I use Google, a big dark box fills in the site I click on and it says "CLIPPED" What did I do? How do I make it go away?

Try seeing if it does this in Safe mode.. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode It may be an extension causing this. If it works OK in Safe mode, enable your extensions one by one to see if its the one causing the problem

Also see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions

Well I rebooted and the boxes and clipped messages have already gone. I bookmarked the Safe Mode page just in case. I wonder what happened????

I dunnno .. maybe you activated a feature of one of your extensions by mistake... Do you have any editing or cutting and pasting type extensions?
I think its just a 'How on Earth did I do that ?' problem ... Related to the 'I wonder what happens if I do this? problem' :)

"When you say anything you click on", do you mean any link, or text boxes? One of the features of the Google toolbar is to autofill text boxes wth things like email address, and that makes tie box yellow.

If this is not what you mean ignore me.
