Hi
Firefox will not save my form data after I close and then open it again. It will remember the form data for the current open session. Here are my settings:
Under Privbacy:
Checked: Remember what I enter in forms and the search bar
Unchecked: Always clear my private data when I close Firefox
Checked: Ask me before clearing private data
I have "Tab Mix Plus" installed and it's session manager turned on. The settings are:
Checked: Enable Session Manager
Checked: Enable Crash Recovery
Under Restore: All options checked
Under Preserved: All options checked
I am also using the remember password function:
Checked: Remember passwords for sites
Checked: Use a master password
I checked that the formhistory.dat file is writable by Firefox by:
1. close firefox
2. deleted the file
3. open firefox and go to a form and type something.
4. close firefox again
5. the formhisotry.dat file is created.
But when I open Firefox again, what I typed before (under step 4) is not there.
I am using:
OS: Vista Busniese (that could be the problem. ) I found that the profile is under:
C:\Users\yanwc\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
This is then copied to:
C:\Users\yanwc\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
Is this correct?
Firefox version: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.13) Gecko/20080311 Firefox/2.0.0.13
This problem started a while back, long time before the current upgrade. I think it started when I enabled Firefox to remember passwords. But I am not too sure.
I am just hoping I have overlooked something and it's easy to fix.
Thanks

Does it work if you start Firefox in -safe-mode?
If starting in Safe-mode works then disable your extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions or use the option in the Safe-mode window) and re-enable them one by one until you find which one is causing it.
Close and restart Firefox after each change.
For more, see: Standard_Diagnostic (MozillaZine KB)
(e.g. try a new profile to test if it is caused by your current profile)
