"most visited sites" button - how to restore it?

Post by pinaceae »

hi,

after upgrading i noticed a new button in my toolbar, right next to my bookmarks icon. it was called "most visited sites" or something similar. i customized my toolbar and deleted this new icon.

how do i restore it? that option is nowhere to be found...

thanks!

Chance are its in your bookmarks list. Drag and drop it onto your toolbar.

i understand it is one of the magic folders in the bookmarks list - which can be deleted, but show no obvious way of restoring them.

any ideas?

I thought you meant you just deleted it from your tool bar, not that you deleted it from your bookmarks. I have no idea how to rebuild it, as that info is probably in the user preference.js file, other than maybe backing up your current bookmarks, and making a new profile.

Type 'about:config' into the Address Bar
Use this filter 'browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion'
Then set value to '0'. It will be at 1 or more
This will restore all the smart folders to the default after Firefox is restarted.

Good luck.
