My power went out last night, and since then Firefox lost all passwords and isn't saving them anymore. I have it checked in the options menu to save passwords, and when I login to a site with it checked to save the password, it apparently doesn't do it. The menu with the options to save or not doesn't even drop down anymore.
Bottom line is... Firefox isn't saving my passwords anymore. I have to keep logging in to sites by hand.
Help.
Firefox doesn't save passwords anymore...

Well, all I could find out that worked, is this
In your Profile delete, or rename files named:
key3.db
signons2.txt
signons3.txt
if they exist!
But be aware, that you will loose all your passwords saved till now.
Hope it'll solve your problem RaynParis.

Do you still see names and password in the Password Manager (Tools > Options > Security)?

For me, this list was empty.. although I had quite a lot saved for sure.
I've moved key3.db and signons*.txt away and used the older files from a backup.
Before doing so, I've stopped Firefox and when I've started it again, I got asked again about saving passwords and the password list was filled again.
Seems like one of those files got corrupted?!

Re: Firefox doesn't save passwords anymore...
My problem is that Firefox hasn't stopped asking to save passwords entirely but it does very seldom. I mean once in a say 30-40 new sites. And I tried deleting/reneaming those files mentioned by Misci and it certainly didn't help. The If I try the same site in Firefox on Windows or in any other browser in Windows/Ubuntu they ask me whether to save the passwords. The problem lies with my Firefox in Ubuntu (now Firefox 3.6.3 and Ubuntu 10.04).
It's a difficult situation. Please post if you have a solution.

amarendra, you have posted to a thread that died out almost a year and a half ago. Not only is it unlikely that any of the original participants is still monitoring this but the version of the software in use at that time has long been obsolete. If you are seeking support please create a new topic and provide details of the problem you are experiencing.
