hello,
Yeah the title says it but before people say "its the fault of the server" let me explain a bit. So i got around 10 websites and in firefox 2 i never had any problems accessing the cpanel and the phpmyadmin. Now at the download day i thought of switching but just waited another week, then i installed firefox 3 without any problems. But after some cpanel and phpmyadmin use i always get temp banned, i first thought its because i do something wrong or the server is stuffed again. Now i contacted my host and he said i got a temp ban because i made over 45 connection to the server. I was like WTF... After some google work i found the about:config settings for only allowing x connection per server. I set the value on 2 and tested it a if i get banned, and yeah it happen again. I made 42 connection this time. My host did everything to help me but clearly its a problem of Firefox 3 (checked everything with him, firewall, access...). My final test was using Internet explorer and see if im getting banned then, this would first of all, clear out if it is a server problem or not, and also clears out if my comp is stuffed up or not. But after using internet explorer and opening like 16 tabs still nothing, not getting banned and i made 16 connections. Now thnx for reading, but i really wonder, why firefox 3 does this? I tested it out on other comps and yep same stuff happens. I wonder if somebody can help me with this problem because im kinda think ill switch back to firefox 2. And i know the about:config settings should fix it but i dont think it works that good... ~Shub [edit]I have edited your terminology as it's not suitable for a family forum.LIMPET235.Mod.[/edit] Last edited by LIMPET235 on August 20th, 2008, 4:01 am, edited 1 time in total.

Did you enable pipelining? Using an extension that make the web faster?
Try with a new profile.

Jus to make sure, try a new profile and see if it still happens.

A new profile will allow you to try it the way Mozilla gave it to you. If you make changes without knowing what they do, you never know when they will come and bite you. At least we are all operating on the same theory. We've seen this before, and no one believes us until they get bit.
It sounds like pipelining, but it could be prefetching or who knows what. Now if the new profile doesn't fix it, post the Web site if you can.

Oke let me try the new user thingy, really thnx for the link VanillaMozilla
Non of my settings where changed (the pipelining thingy) i only got this changed: network.http.sendRefererHeader;0 (default is 2) really dont know what the hell it does Those are on there default value network.http.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests network.http.pipelining.ssl network.http.proxy.pipelining Addons i got installed, - Adblock Plus (0.7.5.5) - British English Dictionary (1.19) - ChatZilla (0.9.83) - Facebook Toolbar (1.2.1) - Fast Video Download (1.6.1) - Free download manager plugin (1.3.2) - Greasemonkey (0.8.20080609.0) (nothing speed up script installed) - IE tab (1.5.20080803) Ill post the results on the new account, right now im messaging my friend, he will test some more stuff out for me (with linux firefox 3). The website: http://fritz-hut.com The test: open 6 windows of firefox all on the fritz-hut.com page and then refresh them one by one, then normally after sometime you will see that firefox cant find the page (using a proxy you figure that the server blocks you) Thnx! ~Shub

I think this is happening to me too, on forums .superiorpics.com (not too safe for work). Using default settings, if you open a few tabs. The network.http.max-connections-per-server default in firefox 3 has been raised to 15, is this not being enforced if you open more than one tab on the same site quickly? The forums is run with UBB.threads , I don't know if the blocking comes from that software.

Made a new account, and tested everything on it.
First test: 6 cpanel tabs open on fritz-hut.com (firefox) I saw: After opening tab 6 i get a "cant find page" error, i refresh all of my tabs to make sure and all turn out in errors (its in dutch btw) http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff15 ... z-hut1.jpg I waited 45min to get my temp ban removed, also cleaned out any Internet history with CCleaner Second test: 6 or more cpanel tabs open on fritz-hut.com (internet explorer) I see: Everything goes oke, I got 6 tabs but just for the sake of it i open a couple more, i refresh all of them to make sure, the page still gets displayed http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff15 ... z-hut2.jpg So what now? ![]() ~Shub Last edited by LoudNoise on August 20th, 2008, 10:17 am, edited 1 time in total.

What is your AV?

Looks like AVG from the systray icon.

OK, one of the networking defaults was changed in version 3, but I doubt if that's the problem. For what it's worth, I can't get that part of the site without an account, but the rest of the site works fine for me. Doesn't matter how many tabs are open. I have pipelining on, but I think other networking settings are defaults.
I really do suggest testing with a new profile. Otherwise it's too easy to miss something. Search the Knowledge Base for the Profile Manager. But yes, it could be security software causing that problem. I don't think security software could get you locked out of the site, though. Hello, Yeah its AVG but i dont think that matters (AVG free version, no firewall or something) You seem to have it right VanillaMozilla, i just tryed myself by opening 9 tabs on fritz-hut.com and nothing happens (like networktime-out) Cpanel is a site administration program (google cpanel for more info) but cpanel is really the top of the top, i really dont think this could give the problem. If i go on the cpanel i go to a secure connection, and if i make to much connection there, then i get a temp ban, so its something related with Firefox 3 vs firefox 2 (never had this in firefox 2) and Secure connections. Also what lucaFr said this can happen 2, lucaFr can you please check if its on a secure connection? (SSL connection, firefox turns the url into GREEN )~Shub

I was thinking that it might be caused by AVG's real-time malware scanner. However, apparently they solved the problem they had with over aggressiveness.
