Right, thanks again for your help :)

In that case it's just a single click on my computer and everything opens up fine.

Can I assume that whatever glitch this problem is it is being safely bypassed by not getting Firefox to check it is the default? Also that somehow Firefox actually is the default browser?

You could try fixing the registry. Download the file below, then add to your registry and restart your pc:
