Hi,
when I want to download a .zip, .rar or .mp3 files, a grey window pops up and requires me to make a choice either "open with" or "save file" or "save with favloc" (an addon for Firefox). I'd like Firefox to do the same with .pdf & any other extension. I know the addon PDF Download but it doesn't let me save the file with Favlock.
Thanks for your help.
Nicolas

Hi,
You can make your choices via, Tools > Options > Applications.
Right click the app & choose from the drop down.

Thanks,
I've already tried that (always ask) for Adobe Documents but Firefox opens the pdf anyway.

Left clicking on PDF links will open the file in the Adobe Reader inside Firefox.
I usually right click on the PDF or whatever, link & "Save Link as......", to wherever..

Have you tried re-setting the D/L actions?

Yes, I have tried that too and even installed the addon "Mime Edit" but it doesn't change anything. I think I'll opt for the right-click option to save the document.
Thank you.

Have you looked at this add-on

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/636

By the way, MIME Edit doesn't work on FF3. The new applications tab made it unnecessary so I didn't upgrade it. You also might want to check out this KB article that provides information on managing content types

Hi,
thank you for your help.
The "pdf download" addon doesn't help cause it's not compatible with the addon "Favloc" (check my first post).
I read the article but it doesn't change anything even if I choose "always ask" the pdf opens. I get the same result with "MIME EDIT" (I found a link for an unofficial version working with Firefox 3.03).
I have this problem on 2 different machines.
Thanks.

Try to disable PDF in the browser in the Adobe Reader: Edit > Preferences > Internet.

Or disable the Adobe Acrobat plugin via Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

Disabling the Foxit Reader plugin (not addon) trick did it for me. Thanks!

Actually a plugin is a addon. Addons are a group that consist of themes, extensions, and plugins.
