Saving sent messages online and locally

Post by klopklop11 »

Hey all,

I would like to save the sent messages on the server (IMAP) and in the same time also to a local folder. I couldn't find any build-in option neither a plug-in option.
I'm using icedove 31.7.0.
Has anyone another idea?

Thanks a lot

You should be able to accomplish that using a filter. Use the "CC to email address" or "BCC to email address" option under Edit → Account Settings->Copies & Folders to send a copy of outgoing messages to yourself. Set up a Message Filter to move messages coming from your own email address to whichever folder you choose under Local Folders to store those messages locally.

If--as many do--you use Gmail, then you just have to 'Place a copy' (Copies & Folders -> When sending...) in your preferred [Other] local folder. Gmail always stores a copy of sent messages on the server without your needing to specify it in your client.
;) mozillaZine is not Mozilla; just as Godzilla is not God. Neither is Mozilla God... they just think they are (what's that about:mozilla?).
Hey, Mozilla... are you sure you wish to do this? (bug 1121291)

Thanks a lot DanRaisch,

the message filter did the trick :)

@mod_wastrel
Thanks also to you. But that account isn't Gmail.
