Can no longer send out email

I have been using TB for over the past 3 years with same email account. I have not changed any settings. Yesterday I started to get an error pop up message whenever i tried to send out an email using TB.

The error message says:
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.3.4 554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Cannot submit message. 16.55847:69000000, 17.43559:0000000060010000000000000000000000000000, 20.521. Please check the message and try again.


I have multiple accounts set up with TB. This problem only happens with one of the email accounts; the other accounts are still fine.

The "problem" email account is still able to receive emails.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is that a Hotmail/Outlook account? Were there attachments to the message(s) you were trying to send?

I fixed it by reinstalling Thunderbird.

FYI it was not a hotmail/outlook account. It was a Yahoo account. There were no attachments in the messages.

I appear to have the same problem with one of my accounts. My message is

Like myko8 both accounts receive emails but only one will send.
Both accounts are Hotmail. Some messages had attachments, some did not.
The really worrying thing is that after sending, getting the message and then clicking ok, the messages move to the sent box so that it was a while before I realised that they had not gone.
