Cant search body after 52.6.0

Hello, after the version on Thunderbird 52.6.0 (52.8.0 included) search in "body" using "contains" stopped working.
In 52.5.2 it worked well

I tried delete global-messages-db.sqlite and redownload IMAP folder - still same

If I downgrade to Thunderbird 52.5.2 search is working again without problem



Emals in Thunderbird are journaled email from MS Exchange - I included one of email for reference

I suspect that problem may be caused by some search fix in TB and mail produced by Exchange.

What did you do? (steps to reproduce)
After update, if I search "body "contains" "X-Spam-Flag: YES" I get no results


Thunderbird 52.6.0 (portable) Windows 7 (Czech), IMAP account
Agent Agent: Mozilla / 5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv: 52.0) Gecko / 20100101 Thunderbird / 52.8.0

global-messages-db.sqlite has absolutely nothing to do with "search messages" method of searching, so deleting it would have no impact.

Have a look at https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thund ... easenotes/ - it involves https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1259534

Then 52.7.0 fixed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1434020 which was a regression of the aforementioned bug.

Perhaps what you are seeing is imap https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1245532

I just did little testing. I copied some mails from IMAP to local folder and try search body in there - nothing. So problem is not probably IMAP related.
So in 52.7 - search in local folder don't work
In 52.5.2 i work's

Do you thing I should post it on bugzilla ?

If it worked in 52.6.0 then yes, please file a bug and attach your testcase message
