Hi,
It seems as though that extension will not work with any version after v52.
So, if you are running "The Latest", eg; v60.5.0, then it will not work.

Hello,

Yes, that is the one I have, thank you for the link, this one, the newest: https://i.imgur.com/YqrqjYg.png

So there is no English language pack available for it? Hmmm, very strange.

It looks like as if the language packs would work for / until TB 52 or so only, but I assume, I misinterpret this.

Hi Dirki,
If you use the full En/US Thunderbird version, it will have that pack installed by default.
You could then install whichever language pack you require.
Not sure if you can run the Portable as well as the full version at the same time though, as I
have never used the portable version.
Maybe someone will know if it's possible.

I use TB Portable all the time (English British ed.) and don't have any problems with it. I would note from the link you provide (shown above) that you have TB Portable v60.5.1 'installed'. However, PortableApps, as yet, haven't officially released that version. I assume that you got it from PortableApps SourceForge website. However, you should know that though PortableApps puts up for (possible/pending) release TB versions at SourceForge, often those releases are available before PortableApps hosts that version release on its own website. However, from time to time to time PortableApps do withdraw a new release from SourceForge because there are problems with it. PortableApps official advice is that you only download the latest release of TB Portable from this webpage: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/ ... d_portable

As you can see, at this point in time, version 60.5.0 is still being hosted there for download. Meaning that PortableApps isn't finished with its checking yet to release v60.5.1 as being a stable release. For confirmation that this is official advice from PortableApps see this thread: https://portableapps.com/node/59491#comment-238543 (The same advice applies to all Portable Apps, including TB.)

Hello LIMPET235,

I use the German version, downloaded with the German pack. Actually I want to switch between the two languages or use En/US solely, but rather switch between them.
I would note from the link you provide (shown above) that you have TB Portable v60.5.1 'installed'. However, PortableApps, as yet, haven't officially released that version. I assume that you got it from PortableApps SourceForge website.
No, no, I didn't, I use TB from PortApps since years, I guess, and never have updated it else, PortApps does it auomtaitcally, so there is no need to update it manually. So I actually should have the version PortApps provides. Odd. Thank you for the links.

But if there was a US langaue pack it should even work with my version, anyway, I would think.

Many thanks. That pack does not seem to be signated by Thunderbird: https://i.imgur.com/TD8G7SM.png

Can / should I install it anyway?

It's probably not signed due to an oversight by the server administrator, but since it's coming from the mozilla ftp, I wouldn't be too worried about its validity.

Alright, so I will do it. Odd that this pack obviously is not that easily to find.

Many thanks again

I also found Turkish language pack here and i was wondering why nobody translated yet for such long time. In Thunderbird addon site many language packs are still shown as incompatible and tens of thousands people use them for each country. I think whoever responsible should just release these, it affects so many people around world
