Unified Folders

Post by dgo47 »

I have recently switched to Unified Folders view but I can not understand the view that I have. It shows my sent folders having both my inboxes and sent folders,

I can send you a picture of this but I do not know how to upload this.

How can I just show my sent folders?

Thank you

Its supposed to group related folders for various accounts together such as all of your inboxs (each named after the account) under "inbox", all of your sent folders (each named after the account) under "sent"....

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Saved_Search if you want to create a virtual folder whose contents are based on a search criteria. For example, that folder could contain messages from all of your sent folders. However, its basically smoke & mirrors - the messages are still physically stored in their sent folders despite them also appearing in the virtual folder.

Currently under my Sent Folder I have Account A Sent, Account A Inbox, Account B Sent, Account B Inbox, Account C Sent, Account B Inbox.

I have an Inbox folder with the 3 account Inboxes, a Trash folder with the 3 accounts Trash folders, etc. The only one that is wrong is the Sent Folder.

Can I correct this in any way?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unified_Folders_not_working

"Use "Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Open Folder" to display the contents of the profile using windows explorer (or whatever file manager you are using). Then exit Thunderbird and delete the "smart mailboxs" directory within the Mail directory. Start Thunderbird."

Have done as you suggested (twice!) and have also deleted the virtualfolders.dat file as suggested but no change.

Is there anything else that I can do?

Thank you for your help so far.

See if the problem still occurs after "help -> restart with add-ons disabled". I'm sort of running out of ideas :)

What version of Thunderbird are you using?

No change when started in safe mode. I have the latest version of Thunderbird 60.5.1 (32 bit)
