All of a sudden my inbox shows that it's 76% full, but the total space used is only about 500 Mb. My remote server reports only 3% used (using IMAP). I tried compacting but that didn't help. What's the deal?

See the similar thread at viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3047995

The quota and %used in the inbox properties is not for that folder, its for the accounts. Are you using a Gmail account? I have nine accounts and only the Gmail accounts seem to have quota problems. However, the Outlook, Vivaldi, and Yahoo accounts claims the quota info is not available because the folder is not open, even when I'm reading a message in the inbox. The same thing occurs using version 52.9.1 and 60.5.3 with the same profile, so I assume the bug has been around a while.

Thanks for responding. I am not using Gmail. Running Thunderbird in Safe Mode has no effect. I did add 3 new custom inbox folders and moved some of my Local Folder messages into them ...maybe that caused it???

Issue solved; apparently it was some kind of server configuration issue. I contacted them and they corrected it.

tanstaafl, thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
