Touchpad extremely fast scrolling - not mouse

Hello,
The inbox list and folder lists respond much too quickly to my touchpad 2 finger scroll - so it's unuseable.
But a mouse scroll wheel works perfectly. Individual email windows scroll perfectly and all other win10 programs scroll fine.
I've tried these with no success:
I removed and installed a fresh 91.3.2 Thunderbird with a new profile and no addons
Tried config editor changes from: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... #p14731935
I poked around a bit in config editor to find a value to change, but I was unsuccessful. Web search not helpful.

Any ideas what could cause or solve this problem?
I have an current Windows 10 pro, Dell xps 13 with Microsoft precision touchpad - I believe it is synaptic hardware.

Additionally the autoscroll and smooth scroll settings do not change this scrolling issue.

If the mouse scroll wheel works fine I suggest you experiment with different drivers for the touchpad such as Synaptics or Elan if this problem didn't start shortly after a windows update. What does the winver utility state you are running? I'm running 21H2 (OS Build 19044, 1348) of Windows 10 Home 64-bit for example

A candidate build of version 91.4.0 is being stress tested, it seems to contain a good number of bug fixes. Perhaps it will act differently. It will probably be released later this week.

I decided to backtrack versions to 78.12 and touchpad scrolling works fine.
I then loaded 91.0 and the same super-fast touchpad scrolling came back.
If I can help with more information I'll be glad to help.

I suggest you test if it also occurs if you use help -> troubleshoot mode (aka safe mode) with 91.3.2 to temporarily disable all add-ons (to rule out it being a side effect of a add-on that needs updating). If it does then please file a bug report at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/home against Thunderbird. Please mention that it occurs with 91.3.2 in safe mode but not with 78.12 .
