remove "subject line" warning?

Post by dazco »

I've asked this b4 w/o any luck but it's been a while and this thing is driving me totally crazy. For whatever reason i just cannot remember to send then wait for the idiotic "your message doesn't have a subject" prompt, so often emails sit there unsent for minutes or hours. Once i hit send then went somewhere overnite only to come home and find the message still waiting to be sent by clicking that stupid prompt. I can't believe such a ridiculous feature cannot be bypassed and I'm posting again out of sheer frustration and hoping something has come along since i last asked. Thanks.

I can't find an alternative to the SendWithoutSubject addon.

SendWithoutSubject (obsolete)
http://addons.thunderbird.net/thunderbird/addon/301312

There isn't a pref available to override the prompt in the current release.

I just saw theres a new team thats developing Tbird so i found the 102 version and installed it hoping it would have the option or an addon. I can't believe it's still not doable ! I see tons of people asking for it in google searches yet no one thats ever been involved in developing Tbird has ever considered that? Geez...

Well, does anyone know of a different mail app that doesnt have this stupid warning and works similarly to Tbird or at least is very configurable so i can make it act the same?

By the way, this new version doesn't have the ability to click in the address field when creating a new email and automatically open the addresses so you can click the recipient and have it fill in the address. Do devs just look for convenient features then remove them to irritate people or what ? Good lord...can't win.

I hit "new contact and add one and it's not in ANY of the addy books including the one set to default which is what i always used. God i hate this crap. Never ever fails.

Here are the developers' reasonings on the issue.

Remove the no subject warning

For reading only as Bugzilla is not a forum.

P.S.

eM Client has the no subject warning as well.
