Thunderbird refresh button?

I have a friend who says she is using Thunderbird 91.13.0. She recently used system restore and now she swears that the Refresh button has disappeared from Thunderbird. She has the Get Messages button, but she swears that there used to be a circular refresh button, similar to the one in Firefox (or at least older versions of Firefox). I had her right-click the toolbar and see if the icon she wanted was available under the Customize option, but she says she doesn't see it.

I have an old version of Thunderbird and it doesn't have a refresh button. It has a Get Mail button, which performs the same function. However, she says that her Get Messages button doesn't seem to do anything.

Any advice?

Maybe she was using a theme that made the Get Messages button in Thunderbird look like the Refresh button in Firefox.

There is an Activity Indicator button that looks similar to the Refresh button with my theme.

I can't find a refresh or reload button in the source.

her Get Messages button doesn't seem to do anything

The Get Messages button shows text in the status bar for me.

Status text example:

abracadabra@gmail.com: There are no new messages on the server.

I use a code snippet to send the status text to the error console when troubleshooting.

There is a circle activity button that can be added to the toolbar if you customize it, but when I put it in there and save the settings it doesn't show or produce data when I send or get mail. Weird.

Thanks for the replies. She says she thinks she was mixing up Thunderbird with her ISP's webmail, which does have a refresh button.
