Sorry for the delay. I got locked out because I tried to update my email address and the verification link failed with a security error. James at Mozilla Support told me how to get back in by fixing the verification link.
I will be back later to read the new posts, thanks
In case this affects other people, the change that worked is to change https to http and take out the :80 (I forget if the character is : but it's the one before 80.)

1. With your Inbox selected, click TB menu > File > Subscribe. Is there an Archive folder there which is unchecked? If so, check it > click 'Subscribe' > OK. It should then appear in the Folder column.karenanne wrote:I was trying to customize the latest thunderbird in particular get rid of the archive button. I accidentally archived an email and would like to know, how do I get it back? tbird displayed something like moved from inbox to 2023, but I can't find 2023 to move it back.
I would also appreciate knowing how to get rid of that button.
Thank you.
2. You can use the Message Header Toolbar Customize add-on to hide the Archive button:

2. You can use tbkeys-lite to assign letters to keys; if you assign nothing to 'a', then you won't be able to mis-archive by pressing 'a' when viewing a message:
e.g., "a": "";
