Duplicate profiles

Duplicate profiles

A search has turned up two profiles with the same name in different locations.
Can anyone tell my why there would be a duplicate?

42.7 gig C:\Users\defaultuser0.LAPTOP-5UQ4L9LI.000\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ns1jf8ce.default
786 meg C:\Users\defaultuser0.LAPTOP-5UQ4L9LI.000\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles\ns1jf8ce.default

The path with /Roaming/ is the profile folder.
The path with /Local/ is the folder with the caches.

My recently created profile is in the .default-release folder, not the .default folder.

There is a "Clear Now" button for the cache in the settings.

Menu Bar > Tools > Settings > General > Disk Space

Use the error console utility to open the about:about page, then click the about:cache link to examine the cache entries.

Menu Bar > Tools > Developer Tools > Error Console (ctrl+shift+j)
