Where are my email addresses stored on ubuntu?

I am trying to locate the folder where my email addresses and old emails are stored in Ubuntu .

They are stored in in your Thunderbird profile. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

If confused whether you're running a Ubuntu or a Mozilla build run the following from a terminal window:

ls ~/.thunderbird/*.default/*Mail
ls ~/.mozilla-thunderbird/*.default/*Mail

Builds from Mozilla.org look in ~/.thunderbird for the profile while builds from the Ubuntu repository (Synaptic, Adept, apt-get) look in ~/.mozilla-thunderbird.
