Hi.

I am running Thunderbird getting mail from my Gmail account. Today I changed my pasword in Google and find Thunderbird requests my passord, but does not accept my new one in Google. Simple, I thought. I will change it back in Google...... but because my old password was less than 8 letters, it no longer accepts it as they now require 8 minimum!
ANy ideas? Graham (email removed) (Ican pick up mail direct from Google mail).

Did you have the Gmail address saved in Thunderbird for automatic entry? Go to TOOLS > OPTIONS > PRIVACY > PASSWORDS > EDIT SAVED PASSWORDS and there you can delete old passwords. The next time you "Get Mail" Thunderbird will ask for the password and you can check the box to remember the value.

Thanks Dan.

I have several passwords saved for automatic connection. I did delete the one relevant to the Gmail account but when I typed it in, in rsponse to Thnderbirds request, it still came up with message: Username and password not accepted.
I assume it has to be the same password as I changed today in Google?
