Thunderbird version 2.0.0.21 (20090302) for Mac OSX Leopard.
When I forward an email, the content of the email is not included. The email is blank.
Forward Message is set to INLINE.
When I reply, the text is there, but not when I forward.
Any ideas:?

Was the message originally forwarded to you as an attachment?

You would see a paperclip icon next to the message in the message pane (where the messages are listed)

Are you SURE you're set to forward inline? What you describe sounds exactly like what I'd expect if you were set to forward as an attachment.

What happens if you forward yourself a copy? How does it look when it arrives?

Thank you - Understood-
I have opened:
Thunderbird - Preferences - Composition - General and I am SURE it is set to Forward Message: INLINE, as I am looking at it now.
When I fwd an email to myself the original email text is not included.
I tried changing it to
As Attachment - but the attachment (eml file) is empty also

Note; this does not happen with all emails - just a select few.

Have you tried running in Mozilla Safe Mode? This is a troubleshooting mode which will run with default theme and with all extensions disabled. If the problem clears up under Safe Mode, you'll know the problem is with a theme or extension.

Now you can investigate which one is the problem by disabling one or more at a time and restarting the program. When the problem clears up, you'll know it is caused by one of the disabled ones, and you can refine further.

Info on Safe Mode:

Thanks - same exact behavior in safe mode.
I think it's a bug and it's repeatable.
How do I log a bug?

I doubt it's a bug, or we'd be getting inundated with other people with the same problem, and I don't think I've ever seen this one from anyone but you.

With View | Attachments Inline UNchecked, can you still see the text of the original message before forwarding? (I'm thinking you may be using a theme that doesn't use the paperclip icon, or that you may not be displaying the Attachments column in your message list.)

No, turning off "view/Attachments inline" does not change the content of the message.
And, a paperclip does display. (for those messages that have attachments)
This does not happen for all messages - very odd
If I hit Reply, then the original message content IS included and I replace the TO with the person I want to Forward to - not ideal but works.
Still, it' be nice to get this fixed.
BTW - same behavior under Mac and Windows.

thanks

I have the same problem. It's when I forward something that came from an MS- Outlook message on a newer computer. The text gets forwarded but not the images. Only way to get around it is to save the image to the desk top then paste it into a new message.

I have the same probem with 2.0.0.12.

If I get a message from an outlook user, a (inline) forward of that message removes the body of that mail.
Workaround is to forward as attachment, but that is not very nice...
