I have several email accounts and was adding another recently.

I put in the wrong login name whilst configuring the account and thus it wasn't able to login. When I went into 'Account Preferences' this account doesn't appear, so I can't edit it and change the login details.

However, everytime I try to download email it checks this account - asks me for a password etc. This is annoying. I would just like to be able to delete it but, like I say, I can't see it in the list of my accounts anywhere.

Is there some other way of deleting it?

Account Preferences??

Menu Path:
[In Windows & OSX]: Tools | Account Settings, or
[In *nix]: Edit | Account Settings
.. then, in the left pane, under the account name, Server Settings
That's where you'll fin the User Name field.

That's exactly my problem - I don't have an entry for the account there.

So how do i edit/delete it?

Your best bet at this point may be to just create a new profile and configure it correctly. See this Mozillazine Knowledge Base article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... hunderbird

ah ha!

Brilliant, thanks for that.

Was able to delete the offending (non) account by editing prefs.js in the main profile folder (s4u1gg1e.default)

No more annoying nagging, ta.
