Close original message after reply/forward

Hello, quick question. I'm using Thunderbird 3.1.3 and Windows 7.

Can someone please tell me how to get the original message to automatically close after replying or forwarding it?

I'd like it to automatically close upon sending and return me to my inbox.

Sorry to bump this again, I'm just surprised no one has replied at all.

Is there not a way to fix this?

I have to close 2 windows every time I send an email. Only one window should be opening and it should close automatically on sending.

To install a Thunderbird extension do the following:
Right click the download link on the extension's home page and choose "Save Link As...". Then, in Thunderbird, go to Tools->Addons->Extensions tab->click on the "Install" button. Navigate to the just downloaded .xpi file and select it. Click on the "Open" button. The installation will now begin. You will need to close and reopen Thunderbird to complete the install.

This add-on worked flawlessly for me. Thank you! I installed it because I want the original message to close automatically on reply. This gives me the option to do so. Once installed, go to Add Ons and right-click the CHANGE QUOTE AND REPLY FORMAT extension and select Options. I'm running Thunderbird 3.1.13 on Windows 7 Professional with a 32-bit operating system.

Another extension that works great for me is the Print Preview Button 0.3 for Firefox 3.6.21, and Desktop Icon Toy version 4.5 which is a separate utility that lets me set the background color of desktop icons in Windows 7.

Extensions are, with few exceptions, cross-platform and are usable with any operating system on which Thunderbird will run.
