OK, then you don't want to use the values you cited in your first post as those are for an account with the school.

See this COX support page, which indicates that 25 is not the correct port value for the incoming (POP) server. http://support.cox.com/sdccommon/asp/co ... 56ac32a574 Use the information in that link to replace the values you current have entered for the account.

I have almost similiar problems
I tried to install TB 3.15 in my office.
When i installed for the first time - setting up of the account was ok but when i tried to receive messages, it showed the error "Connection to the server for your email xxxx timed out".

Now I have re-installed the TB 3.15 and im unable to set up the account itself. When i enter the account details in "Mail Account Setu up", it gives the error "failed to find settings for your e-mail account".
Pls help as I really love TB to use in my office.I want use Gmail IMAP.
Other details:

I use Outlook as my office e-mail client.
OS - Win XP 3
Antivirus : Mc Afee.
Firewall : Windows firewall.

I tried to add the TB to windows Firewall exceptions, but the "Add program" in the Firewall is disabled in the office.

Cruzerboy,
Start a new topic or stay in your original one if you have one. Jumping in on someone else's just gets too confusing for everyone.

I have the same error - failed to find settings for e-mail account. I looked for the windows firewall settings and found nothing for Thunderbird. No listing at all. I keep getting the same error. I had a tech guy try it on his end and he could add my email account in Thunderbird??

Please start a new thread, as suggested.
This one died a couple of years ago.

Thanks.
