Re: Unable to sent mail through Yahoo
Works for me. See if you lose packets if you ping that server from a console window.
C:\>ping smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Pinging smtp.mail.us.am0.yahoodns.net [98.139.212.139] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 98.139.212.139: bytes=32 time=147ms TTL=52
Reply from 98.139.212.139: bytes=32 time=110ms TTL=52

Reply from 98.139.212.139: bytes=32 time=148ms TTL=52
Ping statistics for 98.139.212.139:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 110ms, Maximum = 148ms, Average = 138ms

Re: Unable to sent mail through Yahoo
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Yahoo mentions "Its also possible to use port 587 with secure connection set to none". I suggest you try that. If it works then you can decide if the tradeoff is worth it, or whether you should use the gmail smtp server with your yahoo account. You can do that if you register the yahoo email address in the Gmail web page at Setting -> Accounts -> "Add another email address".

Re: Unable to sent mail through Yahoo
I tried with all ports, 465, 587 and 25, none of this ports work...
i always get the same message:
"Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server smtp.mail.yahoo.com timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator."
I really don't have any idea, where is the problem...

Re: Unable to sent mail through Yahoo
Try deleting the smtp server, restarting Thunderbird, and re-creating the smtp server from scratch.
