crash on Windows 7 64 bit with latest mozilla 10.0.1
Hi,
Thunderbird 10.0.1 crashes immediately after launching on Windows 7 and getting mail. Is it taking %25
of the CPU and is completely unresponsive.
Thank you,
Scott Moore

Mine did exactly the same thing yesterday. Came on here to check if others had the same problem before doing an uninstall and going back to earlier version but when I tried Thunderbird again just now it ran fine and no longer crashed on startup. All I had done was close down for 12 hours or so, go figure!

Might be a firewall or AV issue. Remove Thunderbird from the Firewall and let it be rediscovered.

I have the same problem with 10.0.1 (under Win7-64). It hangs soon after starting. If I'm fast enough I can do a few things before it hangs. But eventually it goes into "not responding" mode and is using 25% CPU.
I reinstalled 10.0.0 and the problem went away.

downgraded to 9.
It worked for like 5 minutes then back to freezing a cpu core.

Same issue - After upgrade to 10.0.1, TB is crashing - sits there saying - Not Responding. Tried disabling firewall - no effect.

Re: crash on Windows 7 64 bit with latest mozilla 10.0.1
I had it working by reinstalling 10.0.0 and de-activating Windows compression of mail folders.
hope that helps somebody.

Re: crash on Windows 7 64 bit with latest mozilla 10.0.1
I read on another post that this new version indexes the messages for Searching, and that may be why it hangs initially after the upgrade. So, the next time it stopped responding, I simply left the app open and came back after a few hours. Now everything is fine with 10.0.1....

Yes, it becomes unresponsive immediately and sits on 25% CPU utilization.
I am on Win7 64bit too.
